Blue Eyed Owl

A few months after I moved into my new home in Oakville, I became aware of a white owl that was visiting the neighbourhood. I became intrigued, and thus was inspired to create a mosaic to represent it. So many wonderful photos have been shared on social media, tracking this particular owl at different stages of the day. I haven't had the chance to see it in person. But the beautiful photos made it sufficient for me to want to capture this feathery jewel.

Unlike the softness of feathers, this mosaic owl is made out of sharp ceramic and glass bits. It is set with mortar, on to a slab of wood that would have been otherwise used as a charcuterie board.
